Our proposal

The proposal for Churchill Quarter  will provide:
- 410 new homes including affordable homes to meet a range of housing needs
- High quality landscaping to enhance and add to the historic Library Gardens
- New commercial spaces including offices for local companies and start-ups
- Enhanced public realm linking the High Street with Church House Gardens- A generous community space to provide a new home for Bromley Town Church
- A new cultural destination and plaza around the Churchill Theatre and Library 

The proposal has evolved throughout the consultation process in direct response to community feedback andchanges include:
- Adapted layout and scale to ensure the development respects both the High Street and Church House Gardens
- Changing the material palette to ensure the development references the existing local character
- Increased soft landscaping to blend the development with the adjacent gardens and maintain space for respite in the town centre
- Varied building heights to create visual interest and ensure the Churchill Theatre and Library building remains the key landmark in Bromley Town Centre
- The taller buildings have been moved away from the boundary with Library Gardens
- New homes will be spread across 7 blocks which have been designed to fit with Bromley’s evolving townscape



New homes
There is an identified need for new homes across Greater London and in Bromley. Churchill Quarter will meet a variety of growing housing needs by delivering:
- 410 new homes, including a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments
- A mix of affordable homes -including affordable rent and shared ownership homes
- High quality design to provide daylight and natural ventilation to all rooms
- Private outdoor space for each new home


Transport and parking
The town centre location benefits from excellent public transport connections and has the second highest PTAL rating of 6a. PTAL is a measure which rates locations by distance from frequent public transport services. All residential parking will be accommodated within the site and will have no impact on local parking provision. New residents will not be able to apply for permits allowing them to park in the Bromley TownCentre Controlled Parking Zone. 

Parking and access arrangements include: 
- 94 car parking spaces will be provided at basement level, with access from Ethelbert Road
- 5 parking spaces will be provided on Churchill Way for Bromley Town Church, including a disabled parking space
- 807 cycle parking spaces will be provided for new residents and there will be further cycle parking spaces in public areas
- Emergency vehicle and servicing access will be via Churchill Way 

Please note that calculations carried out by our transport consultants demonstrate that the scheme will not give rise to unacceptable traffic impacts on local roads.
